Bay Bridge Charity Classic

The 2011 Bay Bridge Charity Classic was held October 23 at the Richmond Range. Sixty-three shooters showed up to shoot the five stages in very nice weather. The match ran very smoothly and I heard many positive comments of running a nice match.

There was a surprise at the start in that we were able to have a shooters prize drawing thanks to Kevin Chu, Gary Ashcavai, and James Saburomaru. Kevin donated over 60 gifts to the prize table and Gary received 10 shirts and a TechWell Magazine/Grip System from TechWear USA. The TechWear website is: www.techwareusa.com.

The 19th annual Toy’s for Tots match raised $1589.00. Thanks to all who helped stage the match and thanks to all who attended. Thanks to Tanja and her brother for the photos. Thanks to the Richmond HotShots and Tom Frenkel for the use of the range and thanks to the Richmond members who helped put on the match. Click here for the match results.

A Note to TASC from Ira

Dear TASC Members,

Thank you so much for the thoughtful gift. TASC is where I started shooting action pistol and I have come to think of it as my home; all it’s members as my family. This was reiterated at the match on Jan 22nd when Lorrie and I came back after almost 3 months of not shooting and everyone welcomed us back with warm greetings. It’s nice to go somewhere “Where everybody knows your name”.

TASC is truely a special club. That was part of my decision to step down as President. I just could not give TASC the time it deserved. Hopefully I will have more time in the future.

Thanks again for a wonderful place to shoot and the most thoughtful gift. I have already browsed the Wolf Camera web site for things I need for my Photography endeavors.

2011 Bay Bridge Charity Classic

Although the Toys for Tots match is not till the end of October we need to find a Match Director for that event as soon as possible. If you would like to help please contact a club officer.

Annual dues are being collected for club membership.

It is $40 and please, cash only. Club membership saves you $5 on every match fee. These dues help the club pay for some of our larger expenses, such as insurance.

The annual El Presidente award was given to Manuel Newman

for all his efforts in helping the club. Along with being MD for the BBCC, Manuel helped build stages, and acted as RO and MD, at many club matches. Thanks for all your help, Manuel.

There were 4 DQ,s in this Quarter.

We need to remember that SAFETY is our number one priority at the range. I know we all “feel the need for speed” but we must not push ourselves beyond the point of safety. Dry fire practice is one way to train yourself in safe gun handling habits. Safe habits make for safe shooting.

Mean Free Zone

On a not quite as serious note, when TASC is on the range, the range is considered a Mean Free Zone. Choruses of “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” when a shooter takes a late makeup shot or telling a fellow shooter who has cut himself, and is bleeding profusely, “Now you can go to Namby-Pamby Land and get yourself Band-Aid”, are very hurtful. Please, no meanness in the Mean Free Zone. :)

The 2010 Bay Bridge Charity Classic...

was completed on October 24, 2010. A great thanks goes to Match Director Manuel Newman in raising $2892 for Toys for Tots. Thanks to Tom Frenkle for help getting the range and also his individual donation.

Sixty-three shooters braved the rainy elements and completed the match. Private individuals donated over 50 prizes to the match ending shooters raffle. Junior Shooters

It has been awhile since TASC has had a Junior shooter but I thought I would post this email I received from Chris Endersby:
 
I know it is kind of late but I still have a scholarship available to the AMU/MGM Junior camp at the end of October. Camp is almost full. – Chris Endersby, Area 2 Director

If you would be interested in buying a TASC club Polo shirt let me know via email. If there is enough interest we can do a purchase.

Match dates and classes

• There WILL be a Safe Handgun Class on Oct.9 Email Andy Marquez to sign up.
• The Oct. 9 match will be a Special Classifier Match with five stages. This a great opportunity for new shooters to get classified or for experienced shooters to get classified in a new division.
• The Oct. 23rd match is cancelled, as it will be held at the Richmond range on Oct. 24. This is the Toys For Tots match which is called the Bay Bridge Charity Classic. Follow the link on our home page to sign up. Cost is $55, cash only. There will be a few prizes at the shooters raffle. Please sign up and support this match.
• There will be a match on the November 27th.
• There will not be a match on the 4th Saturday of December which is Christmas Day.
